For the time being, I will put up a list of all ranks pertaining to the Earth Sphere Federation and A-Laws groups.
Taking a beat from the Titans, personell in A-Laws will have their rank transferred over but it will count one higher than in the regular military.

We will be implementing a cap system for starting ranks, based on time served/experience.
Pilots
While it hasn't been finalized, a rough guide is that any newly graduated pilot officer will be limited to the rank of WO.
Limited experienced officers (IE those who joined in the last four years) Will be limited to 1st Lt.
As for those who were around prior to Operation Falling Angels, your rank is your choice, but if we think you're punching above your wieght, we'll assign you a rank.
Be reasonable, Soma Peries was the only pilot to gain a promotion after Falling Angels, she went from 2nd to full Lt.
So, if you think your character has done a better job than her, you'll need to back it up with some good backstory.
The main reason for limiting character ranking is to stop people coming fresh out of the academy as aces.
The Ahead MS in A-Laws is limited to Lt. and above, to stop the Mobile Suits being destroyed by inexperienced pilots.
It's not all doom and gloom on ranks though, since people who perform well will recieve promotions from command.
Command Officers
A graduate command officer will be limited to the starting rank of full Lieutenant, much higher than their pilot conterpart, but since they are there to command troops, they need the ranks to back it up.
Limited Experience officers can be up to Major.
As before, long serving command officers will have no rank limit, but will again be expected to rank themselves sensibly.
Despite a headstart on ranks, promotion will be much slower in the command character. You'll notice that Sergei Smirov and Kati Mannequin have had no advancement in rank since Fallen Angels despite both bein excellent command officers.
